Zorba Studio is a place dedicated to providing you with the opportunity to actualize the highest potential of living. By using the concept of Zorba the Buddha, a self-realized person who can also enjoy the simple pleasures of life, we offer opportunities for creativity, celebration, relaxation, self-discovery, and meditation.
One quote from Zorba the Greek written by Nikos Kazantzaki that expresses the general philosopy of a Zorba, "the highest point a man can attain is not Knowledge, or Virtue, or Goodness, or Victory, but something even greater, more heroic and more despairing: Sacred Awe!" According to Zorba, the aim of man and matter is to create joy, others would say ‘to create spirit,’ but that comes to the same thing on another plane. That other plane is realized by a Buddha through the use of meditation. A Buddha is one who is awake, one who has gotten rid of all unconsciousness, habits, fears and apprehensions. A Zorba the Buddha is a complete person, both joyful and aware.
“If we want a whole man…then Zorba has to be absorbed into Buddha. They have to be accepted totally as one. Zorba plus Buddha will be a tremendous enrichment. Buddha cannot laugh, cannot dance, cannot love. Zorba can sing, dance, enjoy food, drink, love, but he will not know who he is…he will not know the meaning of existence. He will never come to know the deathlessness of life. Zorba the Buddha will not only destroy the split in man, it will destroy the split in society. “
